After Treatment Care

Your periodontist will discuss with you the proper aftercare needed based on the treatment you received. If anesthesia was used, your lips and gums may be numb for an hour or so after the treatment, so caution is warranted to not bite the lips or inside of cheeks.

Once your gum disease is  treated, regular checkups are needed to prevent it from reoccurring. Good oral hygiene is also a key factor in keeping plaque and tartar from building up and maintaining overall oral health.
